Ubuntu 9.04 Server Nagios started nicht

Hallo,

habe das Ubuntu 9.04 und Nagios jetzt schon zweimal komplett neu installiert. Bin jedesmal exact nach dem Quickstart Script von Nagios vorgegangen. Nagios started einfach nicht.
Folgendes zeigt mir Ubuntu an wenn ich Nagios nicht als daemon starte:

Kann mir jemand sagen, was das bedeutet? Habe bisher Nagios unter Ubuntu 8.10 am laufen gehabt ohne Probleme. Jetzt wollte ich updaten und nichts tut mehr.

Wie du siehst nicht besonders.
Du hast sogar eben eine Lücke in der Version entdeckt. Diese steckt in einer Funktion die erst mit 3.1 eingeführt wurde.

3.1 ist eine Devel Version und ich habe Ethan mehrfach darauf hingewiesen die besser auf nagios.org zu kennzeichnen.

Yeah.. die updatefunktion..

ich gehe davon aus das ist kein ubuntu Paket?
Du kannst mal schauen, ob sich ein Coredump erzeugen lässt... am besten vielleicht mit so wenigen hosts wie möglich in der cfg:
ulimit -c unlimited

per default wird nagios mit debug symbolen übersetzt. Diese werden aber beim make install rausgeschmissen. Daher
anstatt make install, make install-unstripped auswählen.

Ich kann dir nicht versprechen, ob ich/das Forum dir anhand des corefiles weiterhelfen kann, aber zur not kann man das ja dann auch noch an nagios-devel posten.

32bit oder 64bit System?
EDIT: Kernel Version (uname -a) wäre auch nicht verkehrt.
